What can I expect in the first therapy session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. We’ll explore your history, discuss any concerns you’re experiencing, and identify goals you would like to work toward. Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan that fits your needs and helps guide our work moving forward.
How long is a therapy session?
The assessment is a longer session and lasts one hour. Follow-up sessions are 45 minutes to an hour.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes, I offer virtual appointments in NV, MT, GA, and FL, TX
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Yes, I offer in-person appointments in Nevada.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
Every individual is different, which determines how long they may be in therapy. Some people have experienced more significant or ongoing trauma, and they may benefit from longer-term therapy.
Do I need to take medication?
I do not prescribe medication. Some clients come to therapy already taking medication. If medication may be helpful, I can refer you to a physician or other qualified provider for a medication evaluation.
What if I don’t know what to say in therapy?
That’s okay. We can go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We can talk about any problems, concerns, or symptoms that are coming up for you.
What if I need a higher level of care?
If you need a more specialized provider or a higher level of care, I can help connect you with someone who takes your insurance. For example, some clients may benefit from a referral to an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or 12-step programs for recovery.
Do you only work with women?
No, I work with men as well.
