I often work with women who have experienced childhood trauma in which they did not feel physically or emotionally safe. Growing up, you may have learned to push your emotions down to survive. You learned to move on, keep going, and do what you needed to do to get through each day.
On the outside, you may seem like you have it all together, but on the inside, you may struggle with anxiety, panic attacks, overthinking, people-pleasing, and burnout. You may struggle to say no without feeling guilty. You're the person everyone depends on, yet you may struggle to ask for help yourself. You may feel disconnected from your own emotions because you've spent so much time thinking about everyone else's needs that you've lost touch with your own. Perhaps you struggle in relationships because trusting others and allowing yourself to be vulnerable doesn't come easily.
I work with high-achieving women who are functioning, working, raising families, maintaining relationships, and accomplishing things, but internally are struggling. I often meet women at a crossroads, when they feel they can no longer continue down the path they're on. They're tired of just getting through the day and want to experience more joy, peace, and fulfillment in their lives.
I understand that therapy can feel scary, especially when it means opening up to someone you don't know. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable. We can work together to set treatment goals and move at a pace that feels right for you. You don't have to share everything at all at once, and you don't have to process anything before you feel ready.
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and other modalities to tailor treatment to your individual needs.
Together, we can process experiences you've been holding onto, understand patterns that may no longer serve you, strengthen coping skills, and build tools to help you regulate your emotions when life feels overwhelming.
You deserve to feel like you're living your life, not just surviving it.
I invite you to schedule a free consultation so we can meet, talk about what brings you to therapy, and see if working together feels like a good fit.
